Prospective Parliamentary Candidates were last night selected by members of the party to contest the Ayr, Carrick & Cumnock and Central Ayrshire constituencies at the 2015 U.K. General Election at meetings held in Ayr and Troon.
Local lad Lee Lyons was selected my members from across the Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock constituency at a meeting held in Ayr Town Hall with a pledge to campaign across the whole constituency, including areas that don't normally back Conservative in large numbers.
Marc Hope, who was raised, went to school and has his family home in Ayrshire, was selected to contest the Central Ayrshire constituency by members in Troon. Marc indicated that he isn't phased by the sitting Labour MP Brian Donohoe's majority and pledged to fight for every vote across the constituency.
Both candidates are committed to keeping Scotland in the United Kingdom and will continue to play an integral part in the local campaign in the run up to September, whilst also kick starting their General Election campaigns.
