The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party officially launched our manifesto for the coming European Elections on the 22nd of May at the Dynamic Earth Centre in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
Party leader Ruth Davidson MSP was flanked by party activists along with the Scottish Conservative lead candidate Dr. Ian Duncan and our other list candidates; Belinda Don, Nosheena Mobarik, Jamie Gardner, Iain McGill and Stuart McIntyre.
Ruth announced that the Scottish Conservatives are the only party that will fight for EU reform and also offer the people a say with an In/Out referendum in 2017.
She said "The Scottish Conservatives are the only party at this election who are acting on the wishes of the people of Scotland. The evidence shows that nearly 60% of Scots want a referendum. That’s exactly what the Scottish Conservatives, within the UK, can deliver. As part of the UK, Scotland can be part of a new deal that renews our relationship with Europe. That includes a better deal for Scottish taxpayers, continued control over our borders, greater control over justice and home affairs, and saying ‘no’ to the Euro.”
Dr. Ian Duncan - our lead candidate - has direct experience working with the European Union in Brussels and also from his four years experience representing Scottish Fishermen. He said "The Scottish Conservatives are the only party at this election who are acting on the wishes of the people of Scotland. The evidence shows that nearly 60% of Scots want a referendum.
