Firstly, we want to thank Bill Grant for over two years serving as MP for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock. Bill was the first Scottish Conservative MP for the seat, since the current constituency was created. He worked hard for constituents across the constituency and stood up for a range of issues.
Martin Dowey was a fantastic candidate to follow Bill. Unfortunately, despite our vote holding up well, Martin was not elected this time. However, the fact that the vote held up well in Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock is a testament to the hard work of the candidate and all those who helped with door-knocking, leafletting and with the phone bank.
